(1) Service introduction
"School Pre-school Rehabilitation Service" is a professional team composed of educational psychologists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, special kindergarten teachers and social workers from Heep Hong Society, providing the following services:
· Schoolchildren's training: provide individual/group training to the school for children with special needs, coupled with the center's professional expertise.
· Kindergarten teacher training: hold special lectures, provide professional consultation and demonstration, curriculum adjustment and classroom management suggestions.
· Parent support: professional consultations, workshops and lectures to enrich parental effectiveness and promote the parent-child relationship.
(2) Mission
· Adopt the dual-track model of "school support, professional support" to provide all-round training and counseling for children with special needs in kindergartens.
· Strengthen the knowledge of kindergarten teachers to provide appropriate training for children with special needs.
· Improve parents' knowledge and skills in caring for students with special needs, so that they can provide homebased learning support for their children.
(3) Service target
· 2-6 years old children with developmental disabilities referred by the Social Welfare Department.
· Parents/care-takers of the above-mentioned children.
(4) Application method
· After an evaluation, children, who are determined to be eligible for subsidized pre-school rehabilitation services, must apply to be wait listed for school, pre-school rehabilitation services/special child care centers through the Central Referral System of the Social Welfare Department and receive centrally allocated services according to the order on the waiting list.
(5) Service fees
· Except for the fees of kindergartens/kindergarten-cum-child care centers, there are no additional fees.
