School history

Our kindergarten is founded by the Hong Kong & Kowloon Kaifong Women’s Association and is run by the Social Welfare Department. In 1987, the Chairman of the Council, Dr. Sun Fong Chung Jeannie BBS MBE JP, Chairman of the Board of Kindergarten, Madam Ting Yuk Chee Christina GBS JP, and Vice-Chairman, Dr. Delia Pei BBS JP, led the fundraising.  In November 1989, the department was approved by the Social Welfare Department for registration.  In May 1991, the Director of Social Welfare, Michael David Cartland, Justices of the Peace, officiated at the opening ceremony. In October 1994, in response to social needs, the Social Welfare Department was invited to join the Occasional Child Care Service to help parents in need to take care of their children and prevent them from being left unattended at home. In February 1995, an additional 12 children were enrolled in the Integrated Services for the Aged. In September, 2015, we provided an additional one child-cum-child care service for the families who needed it, and 18 places are now available for children in need. In the same year, an Extended Hours Service was also provided to help parents in the district to receive comprehensive care for their children.
